On August 8, US Congressman Bill Johnson visited YNDC to learn about YNDC's work and discuss the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act (NHIA). YNDC and the Youngstown Housing Task Force had previously contacted Congressman Johnson asking for his support of this important legislation.

On August 30, 2023 the Youngstown Housing Task Force (Task Force) met to address housing quality and problem properties. YNDC is seeking candidates for Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member position. Under the supervision of the Neighborhood Stabilization Director, the Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member will work with a team in the implementation of property maintenance and neighborhood improvement projects including cutting grass, cleaning up vacant structures and lots, boarding of vacant housing, basic construction, sidewalk repair and replacement and other projects to improve the quality of life in Youngstown’s neighborhoods. MAHONING COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AWARD $89,000 IN AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDING TO BE USED FOR REPLACEMENT OF BROKEN AND UNSAFE SIDEWALKS ON THE EAST SIDE IN THE FIRST WARD
On August 3, the Mahoning County Commissioners awarded $89,000 in American Rescue Plan funding to be used for replacement of broken and unsafe sidewalks on the East Side in the First Ward to improve the safety for pedestrians in order to connect residents to transit stops, commercial districts, and recreation opportunities.
KEYBANK FOUNDATION AWARDS $20,000 GRANT TO YNDC FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR
On August 9, the KeyBank Foundation awarded a $20,000 grant to YNDC for emergency repair.
