On Wednesday, April 19, the Glenwood Neighbors Business Association hosted its first meeting at YNDC's Neighborhood Action Center. The business owners spent the first meeting introducing themselves, organizing around mutual concerns, and discussing and prioritizing issues for improvement along the greater Glenwood Avenue corridor.

Janet has lived in her home since 2006. Located in a tight knit neighborhood where everyone knows each other, she says, “our neighborhood is the greatest neighborhood.” By replacing Janet's roof, YNDC eliminated severe leaks that were causing damage throughout her home and prevented further deterioration, allowing Janet and her disabled husband to remain in the neighborhood where they have made their home for the past 17 years.

YNDC is seeking candidates for a Property Survey Intern position. Property Survey Interns will conduct a citywide housing quality and property conditions survey of the neighborhoods in Youngstown. The majority of work will take place in the field rather than an office setting. 
YNDC is seeking candidates for a Housing Project Inspector position. Under the supervision of the Housing Director, the Housing Project Inspector will screen properties for necessary repairs, write up project specifications, inspect completed repairs, and communicate deficiencies.  
YNDC is seeking candidates for 7th Ward Neighborhood Improvement Assistant. The Neighborhood Improvement Assistant will work under the direction of the Neighborhood Stabilization Director to work with neighborhood groups to complete improvement projects, organize neighbors around property maintenance issues affecting their neighborhoods, conduct routine neighborhood property condition and resident surveys, and serve as a resource to property owners. The Assistant will work with YNDC staff, neighbors, the City of Youngstown, and stakeholders to improve neighborhood conditions in the 7th Ward. 
YNDC is seeking candidates for Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member position. Under the supervision of the Neighborhood Stabilization Director, the Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member will work with a team in the implementation of property maintenance and neighborhood improvement projects including cutting grass, cleaning up vacant structures and lots, boarding of vacant housing, basic construction, sidewalk repair and replacement and other projects to improve the quality of life in Youngstown’s neighborhoods.
