Mahoning County Land Bank is Awarded a $5 Million Grant in Partnership with YNDC through the Welcome Home Ohio Program

On Thursday, October 24, the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) awarded $5,000,000 in Welcome Home Ohio (WHO) program funding to Mahoning County Land Bank (MCLB) in partnership with the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) to create new affordable housing opportunities.

Community Safety Program Begins with Light and Camera Install

On Thursday, October 10, YNDC team members Jasmine and Angel began the installation of cameras and lights at 250 households as part of the Community Safety program. The program was created based on resident feedback to reduce crime, increase safety, and develop positive relationships with the Youngstown Police Department.

Through the Mahoning Valley TreeCorps program, YNDC planted a total of 337 2" caliper shade trees in Youngstown's neighborhoods during the early fall planting season; its largest seasonal tree planting in organizational history.

YNDC Joins Multiple Partners to Meet with Congressman Rulli to Discuss Produce Prescription and Nutrition Incentive Programs

On Thursday, October 24, YNDC joined Produce Perks, the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, the Health Community Partnership, Mercy Community Health, local farmers, and the Mercy Health Foundation to discuss nutrition incentive and produce prescription programs and their impact on Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

Rental Housing Program Coordinator

YNDC is seeking candidates for a Rental Housing Program Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Housing Director, the Rental Housing Program Coordinator will implement YNDC’s rental housing programming, including all client correspondence, document preparation and processing, showing units, data entry, filing, and reporting, and assist with administration of all other housing programs as needed.

YNDC is seeking candidates for a Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member Position.

Under the direction of the Neighborhood Stabilization Director, the Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member will work with a team to implement property maintenance and neighborhood improvement projects including cutting grass, cleaning up/boarding vacant properties, basic construction/landscaping, and other projects to improve the quality of life in Youngstown’s neighborhoods.
