On Wednesday, July 10, more than 80 members of the Youngstown Housing Task Force, ACTION, YNDC, and other ally organizations boarded buses to visit the offices of Allstate Property Management, who is the property manager for Youngstown Houses LLC. The task force sought to execute a community agreement with Allstate Property Management regarding the condition of the 304 single family homes owned by Youngstown Houses LLC.

On July 18, YNDC was awarded $250,000 in 2nd Ward ARP funding to make physical improvements and eliminate blight along corridors in the 2nd Ward. The work will include repair and improvements to existing buildings, pedestrian scale infrastructure improvements such as benches and lighting at transit stops, vacant lot clean up and greening, and removal of dead trees and planting of new trees.

On July 18, YNDC was awarded $50,000 in 6th Ward ARP Funds. The  program will provide security lights to households with members 65 or older and businesses located in Qualified Census Tracts in the 6th Ward in order to prevent and solve crime following evidence-based Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practices.

YNDC is seeking candidates for a Marketing Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Housing Director, the Marketing Coordinator will assist with the completion of routine photographic documentation, social media posts, website updates, publication layout, and other tasks as assigned.

YNDC is seeking candidates for a Housing Project Inspector Position. Under the supervision of the Housing Director, the Housing Project Inspector will screen properties for necessary repairs, write up project specifications, bid out projects, inspect completed repairs, and communicate deficiencies.

YNDC is seeking candidates for a Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member Position. Under the direction of the Neighborhood Stabilization Director, the Grass Cutting and Cleanup Team Member will work with a team to implement property maintenance and neighborhood improvement projects including cutting grass, cleaning up/boarding vacant properties, basic construction  / landscaping, and other projects to improve the quality of life in Youngstown’s neighborhoods.
